An adjustment is our main tool in caring for our patients. The Doctor of Chiropractic typically uses his hands or an adjusting instrument to manipulate the joints of the spine, in order to increase functional movement in the joint. This restoration of function movement in the joint removes nerve interference and helps with a host of symptoms.

The chiropractic adjustment is a specific motion applied to a joint to restore proper range of motion and posture to the body. Chiropractic adjustment is a therapy that can be applied by hand (manual adjustment), using an instrument most commonly called an activator, or with drops and triangular blocks.

Chiropractic manipulation is a controlled procedure adapted to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often have positive changes in their symptoms immediately following a chiropractic adjustment. Most conditions take more than one treatment.  This isn't always the case, but you can rest assured that we will do everything we can to get you feeling better in a timely manner.

The popping noise often heard when performing a manual chiropractic adjustment is called a cavitation.   This is simply the release of gas trapped in the joint space rushing out when the joint is moved.
